As a Project Manager, you will support a large environmental laboratory located in the Northwest region of the United States. You will oversee client projects throughout all laboratory operations phases. Your responsibilities include project setup, communication, and managing client relationships to support the laboratory's mission. You will ensure the successful execution of projects, coordinating with various departments to meet client expectations and maintaining compliance with state and national program requirements.
Project Setup & Management
- Coordinate and manage commercial and Department of Defense programs.
- Use LIMS to review, set up, and document projects, including special instructions.
- Manage client accounts, purchase orders, task orders, and contracts.
- Verify laboratory compound lists and limits for compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate deliverable assignments and ensure correct formatting for data deliveries.
Client & Operations Communication
- Lead project kick-off calls and maintain ongoing communication with clients and internal teams.
- Engage with work share labs and service centers for new projects.
- Ensure adequate capacity for incoming work by collaborating with operations.
- Schedule bottle orders and coordinate with couriers or field samplers as needed.
Quality Control & Reporting
- Ensure that lab certifications and compound lists meet project standards.
- Review project reports and ensure accurate data delivery to clients.
- Manage incoming work, particularly for rush jobs, and resolve any issues promptly.
Invoicing & Financials
- Oversee the invoicing process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements.
- Address and resolve any discrepancies in invoices, and work with collections on A/R follow-ups.
- Maintain regular reviews of A/R status and manage credit/debit memos.
Client Relationship Management
- Work with Client Services Managers to communicate lab capabilities and manage client accounts.
- Handle client contract reviews and follow up on client terms and credit limits.
- Provide ongoing technical support and maintain regular client communication.
Qualifications
• Education: BS/BA in Chemistry/Sciences or a related field (four years of related experience may substitute for a degree).
Experience:
- Prior project management experience, supporting the laboratory and customer.
- 3+ years of client service experience is preferred.
- Some experience as a bench chemist or in the field is desirable.
Skills:
- Professional proficiency in English, with strong communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
Work Authorization:
- Must have authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
